This romantic scene depicts a young couple resting beneath a tree. The boy looks longingly at the girl who stares into the distance in a dream-like trance. The maiden rests her basket of foliage on her skirt as she gently plucks a plant from the ground. This painting is of the style of Thomas Faed and his artistic circle in the mid 19th century.
