Title: Mid-20th Century Post-Impressionist Pastel of Colourful Docked Boats by Anne Marie Migette Perard (French 1902-1977) Medium: Pastel on unframed paper Size: 10.75 inches (height) x 14.5 inches (width) Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound. Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France. Description: Brimming with energy and expressive colour, this Mid-20th Century pastel by Anne Marie Migette Perard captures two stylised docked boats from a bird’s-eye view, rendered in bold sweeps of pigment and animated outlines. The vibrant palette—featuring rich reds, deep blues, emerald greens, golden ochres, and lavender shadows—infuses the piece with a sense of kinetic motion, as though the boats are gently bobbing in the water.
