Condition: As is normal with unframed works on paper there are some minor old creases or paper edge curls/ tears - all of which should be covered over or smoothed out once framed; generally very good and sound.
Provenance: as with all the works we have by this artist, it has come from the artists estate in France.
Description: This bold and emotionally charged painting by Anne Marie Migette Perard is titled “Romeo et Juliette” on the reverse, offering rare narrative insight into the artist’s intent. Executed in layered mixed media—oil, pastel, and ink—it conjures the tragic romance through abstracted, theatrical forms. Central to the work is a figure in a red gown with wing-like textures, likely representing Juliette, reaching out toward another form bathed in yellow. Flanking them are a cast of haunting silhouettes rendered in moody indigo, crimson, and olive tones, evoking the presence of feuding families or lost souls.
