About the Item

Title: British Watercolor of a Countryside Road Under Dramatic Clouds By Anthony Avery (British 1946-2023) Original watercolor on artists paper, unframed Dimensions: 11.25 x 15.25 inches (Height x Width) Condition: Good, with some minor signs of aging. Provenance: From a large collection of this artists work, held in England. Description: This captivating watercolour portrays a peaceful countryside road meandering through a lush, rural landscape. Framed by dense greenery and sparse, leafless trees, the road guides the viewer's eye into the distance, creating a sense of quiet anticipation. Overhead, a dramatic sky dominates the composition, with billowing grey clouds infused with hints of light, adding depth and atmosphere. The soft, muted palette enhances the serene yet moody tone of the scene, while the artist's delicate brushwork conveys the textures of the foliage and the subtle undulations of the road. This evocative piece perfectly captures the beauty and tranquility of nature, set against the backdrop of an overcast day.
