BARBARA HUBERT (born in 1974)
In 1999 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She studied at the atelier of prof. Stanisław Rodziński and prof. Leszek Misiak. As the artist often emphasizes, she tries to paint a better side of life, to expose more colorful moment of our reality and to paint in such a way that the viewer could feel the temperature, smell and taste the small slice of the world wich she presents on the canvas.

The Gallery of Katarzyna Napiorkowska is one of the first private art galleries in Poland. For over 30 years, the gallery has been presenting contemporary paintings, graphics, drawings, and sculptures. Our galleries are located in Warsaw and Brussels. The portfolio of the Gallery includes selected objects of renowned Polish artists. In 2015, our Gallery was awarded the prestigious title of the Ambassador of the Polish Economy in the European Brand category awarded by the Business Center Club.

The artwork is not framed. One of the photos presented a visualisation of the frame.
SHIPMENT
The painting may arrive rolled in a strong tube or a box. Such a transport method is very safe for oversized works and provides lower shipping costs as well. Rolled works can be easily stretched by placing canvas onto wood stretcher bars and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival.

Barbara Hubert graduated from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She studied at the atelier of professor Stanisław Rudziński and professor Leszek Misiak. "Moonlight Phantasy" comes from a lovely wood near my home in the High Peak. When the moon is full you can walk in the evening and it feels almost as light as day. The wood is quiet with dark tones of the trees creating shadows in the pale moonlight. An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. Harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists and some of the methods of the old masters such as scumbling and glazing. I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The result is a contemporary painting, which lies somewhere between abstraction and realism. The painting continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
