Beautiful mid century California landscape of a creek running through the woods near an old barn by San Francisco artist Bonita Salvater Van Craeynest (American, 1907-1992). Signed "S. Van Craeynest" lower right. Artist's label on verso. Unframed. Image, 22"H x 28"W.
Van Craeynest was raised in the Sierra foothills in Auburn. She lived most of her life in San Francisco where she gained acclaim for her display art and paintings, many of which drew on her country upbringing. She painted many scenes in Placer county California.
