'Golden Rain'
Acrylic and marble plaster on canvas board
50x50 cm
I create the picture first in plaster, made from marble dust and a binding agent. This produces a tangibly dimensional look and feel. After being gessoed, I then paint on this relief with high-quality, heavy-body acrylic paint. The end result is a unique and impactful artwork which tends to draw the viewer in.
It rained here in South West England during all of October 2019! I find that quite unconsciously my paintings reflect the seasons. So, I think this idea has come about from all the rain falling past my window and the dripping leaves of the Wisteria that clad the house.
This painting is on a canvas-covered board
The painting has several coats of a satin varnish for UV and dirt protection.
It is signed and dated on the back.

She then paints the sculpted image using heavy-body acrylics to create vivid and impactful paintings with a highly visible relief and an attractive 3-dimensional feel. Her deep sense of connection to the earth and her love for flowers, plants and the countryside reveal themselves in her more abstract works which are lively and intense in their character.
