Chantal Grimb was a twentieth century French artist. She was born in 1947 and died in 1988. She was active in the French art scene during the 1960s and 1970s, engaging in various artistic disciplines including dance, theatre, music, and painting. In 1967, she founded the Saint-Exupéry Troupe at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin in Paris, where she taught acting using the Stanislavski method. Between 1969 and 1972, she also taught painting in Paris.
Her work garnered attention from numerous renowned collectors over the years. Notably, she maintained a warm correspondence with the famous French writer and philosopher Jean Giono, who supported her during challenging times. After his death, she felt she had lost her spiritual father. Throughout her career, she remained dedicated to exploring the evolution of painting, always in search of beauty and wonder, with sincerity and authenticity being essential to her. Between 1966 and 1973, she presented both private and public exhibitions in France, with a significant exhibition in Bordeaux in 1967.
Her pieces often delved into themes of spirituality and the mystical, reflecting her deep connection to the metaphysical aspects of art. She was always in search of beauty and wonder, with sincerity and authenticity being essential to her. Grimb’s work continues to be recognized, especially her unique series Chemin de Croix Noir.
While detailed information about her life and career is limited, her contributions to the art world, particularly her unique approach to painting and her exploration of spiritual themes, continue to be recognized and appreciated by art enthusiasts and collectors.

Discover the vibrant expression of nature in “Tout Est Rythme, Honfleur,” a captivating original oil on board painting by renowned French artist Chantal Grimb, created in 1972. This richly textured artwork vividly captures the dynamic landscapes of Honfleur, a historic port town in Normandy beloved by Impressionist painters.
Executed in bold, rhythmic brushstrokes, this painting reflects Grimb’s signature style—where colour, movement, and emotion converge in a harmonious composition. The swirling sky, windswept grasses, and dramatic trees evoke a sense of constant motion, embodying the painting’s title, which translates to “Everything is Rhythm.”
Grimb’s masterful use of oil paints creates a palpable energy across the canvas, with a palette of vibrant blues, lush greens, golden yellows, and earthy reds that bring the French countryside to life. This piece is an outstanding example of mid-20th-century French landscape painting, blending post-Impressionist and expressionist influences.
Perfect for collectors of vintage French art, original oil landscapes, or admirers of Honfleur’s artistic heritage, Tout Est Rythme, Honfleur is a one-of-a-kind work that celebrates the movement and vitality of nature through an artist’s eye.
