About the Item
This painting offers a miniature model of society. Humans are inseparable from their environment. Figures, trees, houses, paths: everything is caught in a line system that circulates, connects, and envelopes. Humans are not central; they are inscribed in a space that supports them as much as it conditions them.
As is often the case with Kluge, the composition rejects perspective and favors interweaving. The body becomes architecture, the roof extends a body, and the hill follows the movement of a leg. This miniature society has neither center nor leader but its logic: that of organic coexistence, where each form finds its place without excluding another.
The simple lines convey a singular idea: a world based neither on order nor power, but on the discreet adjustment between beings and their environment, made tangible through color and repetition.
The gestures are elementary: walking, sitting, climbing. Everyone is part of a larger framework, where to live is to coexist. A society that is not the sum of individuals, but a continuous circulation.
