Dana CowieGratitude - Original Blue Green Impasto Abstract Rural Landscape Painting2024
2024
About the Item
Using an impasto, painterly technique Dana Cowie creates cubist-inspired farm and rural landscapes. Working within controlled color schemes, her artworks appear abstract up close and become more representational as the viewer takes in the larger image. Each stylized color represents shadows and grander forms of perspective that capture a more vibrant experience beyond the minute details of the subjects she paints.
Dana Cowie created this 24-inch tall by 48-inch wide horizontal abstract landscape artwork with oil paint on a canvas. This artwork is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this oil on canvas artwork are painted white. The artist signs the artwork on the front and the back. Free delivery is available for those in the local Los Angeles area, and affordable worldwide shipping is available for US and international art collectors. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with this unique painting.
In Cowie's artworks, each stylized color is utilized to capture the essence of rural landscapes and emphasize the importance of color as a critical element in painting. Her technique creates a textured and layered effect that adds depth to each artwork, drawing the viewer's attention to the interplay of color and form. Dana Cowie's artworks are a beautiful and engaging blend of abstraction and representation, capturing the spirit of rural life with a fresh and innovative perspective.
Cowie's work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across Canada, in the U.S., and England. She is collected worldwide. Dana’s paintings have been featured in magazines as well, including Style at Home Magazine, House & Garden magazine (UK), and Escarpment Magazine.

Dana Cowie
Using an impasto, painterly technique Dana Cowie creates cubist-inspired farm and rural landscapes. Working within controlled color schemes, her artworks appear abstract up close and become more representational as the viewer takes in the larger image. Each stylized color represents shadows and grander forms of perspective that capture a more vibrant experience beyond the minute details of
the subjects she paints. “I live in a small town and am surrounded by beautiful barns and rolling hills. My
work is a culmination of years of painting in search of a patchwork quilt effect using
thick, expressionist marks. Barns and farmland speak to me as I live in a rural setting and have good friendships with local farmers. Using classical oils and acrylics and painting on my grandmothers
1940’s easel, I work instantaneously across my canvas, creating layers
of color that overlap as the image emerges.” Born in 1975, Cowie grew up in Hamilton, Ontario in Canada before enrolling in the visual art program at Central Technical School in Toronto in the 90’s. She has also lived in Japan and Victoria, British Columbia. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group shows across Canada, in the U.S. and England. She is represented by art galleries in Canada, U.S. and England and is collected world-wide. Dana’s paintings have been featured in magazines as well, including Style at Home Magazine, House & Garden magazine (UK) and Escarpment Magazine. She lives in Owen Sound, Canada with her family. Rainy Hot Day - Tall Colorful Original Abstract Landscape Oil Painting
By Ekaterina Ermilkina
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Ekaterina Ermilkina’s original, abstract fine art paintings are created using a skillful combination of applying and removing oil paint with a palette knife on canvas. Her inspirations are the expressionistic skylines of big cities like Manhattan, Philadelphia, or Chicago filled with colorful skyscrapers. The urban, scenic views are abstracted and rich with vivid and textured layers. Ermilkina’s emotional architectural patchwork and mosaic cityscapes radiate a life of balance and positive energy.
This artwork measures 60 inches high by 20 inches wide. Ermilkina carefully adds thick cube-like dots of oil paint with a palette knife in distinct patterns onto the surface, adding an intricate three-dimensional texture to her oil paintings. The color spots partially blend into a fuller range of background tones and give the artworks a significant depth. She signs the front of the artwork and paints the sides as a continuation of the front. It does not require framing. It is wired and ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable U.S. and global shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the gallery is included.
Born in 1975, Saratov, Russia, Ekaterina Ermilkina now lives and works in New Jersey. She grew up in the beautiful city of Yalta in Crimea on the North coast of the Black Sea, where in 1985 she enrolled as a student to the School of Art of F.Vasiliev, graduating in 1991.
After her first introduction to fine art in Yalta, in 1992, Ekaterina Ermilkina moved to Saint-Petersburg, Russia. In 1998 she received her MFA from State Art and Industry Academy. The unique beauty and rich culture of the city inspired her to paint cityscapes.
In late 2005, Ermilkina moved to the U.S. Her works has been presented in various solo and group exhibitions in international galleries and art fairs and have been collected throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Germany, France, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, and Russia.
Her artworks pop with color and motion, casting a candied haze across the urban landscape. “I am focused on art all my life. It makes me optimistic, full of energy and happy. The vivid colors of Crimea where I grew up, the beautiful marine of the Black Sea, inspired me to paint for the rest of my life. I believe that paintings can reflect our desires for beauty, poetics and perfection.”
