This painting was created on a winter day on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii.
"That afternoon, the sun was blindingly bright, and I walked out out to the black volcanic rocks to paint on site." said Daria Molostnova about this artwork. "The ocean sparkled so intensely it hurt to look at. Strong winds sent waves crashing against the rocks, and in the distance, a few surfers were trying to catch a wave."
“Sun and waves” captures the light and energy of nature. It makes a striking addition to any place - especially suitable for a living room, home office, or a small wall that draws the eye. The painting radiates warmth and the vibrant power of the ocean. It is the best displayed in a wide dark frame, possibly with touches of silver or gold.
The work is painted on American canvas, hand-stretched by the artist over a wooden frame. It features high-quality French and Italian paints and is finished with a protective varnish.
Daria Molostnova lives and works in Hawaii, where she discovered the true beauty of the surrounding world. Her paintings reflect the local reality, expressed through her personal cultural code. A graduate of the Russian State University of Design and Applied Arts named Stroganoff, she earned her master's degree, blending the traditions of classical education with a contemporary artistic perspective.
Daria grew up in a family of professional artists, her mother being a renowned designer and lead doll artist of the Soviet Union. Since 1997, Daria has been a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and since 1998, a member of the International Union of Journalists.
She has taught at the Russian-Italian Art School Perotti and the Correspondence People's University of Arts. She has conducted numerous workshops both in Russia and abroad, as well as team-building activities for companies such as Harpers Bazaar, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola.
Daria has participated in international artist residencies in such countries as Bosnia, France, and Italy. She is a participant in many Russian and international art fairs, competitions, and exhibitions. Currently, she collaborates with galleries in Hawaii and California.
Her works are held in several Russian museums, as well as in private collections both in Russia and abroad.
