About the Item
Lush River Landscape Sunset with Cottage & Village in the English Countryside - Vintage Oil Painting by British Artist, David James. Dramatic skies and beautiful reflections are a feature of this landscape and seascape artist.
Art measures 30 x 20 inches
Frame measures 36 x 24 inches
This oil painting captures a serene countryside scene at sunset, where soft, golden light bathes a picturesque landscape. A tranquil river winds gently through lush greenery, reflecting the sky’s warm hues and adding a mirror-like effect to the composition. The focal point is a charming stone bridge that gracefully arches over the water, leading to a quaint cottage nestled among tall, whispering trees. The misty hills in the background enhance the depth and sense of peaceful isolation.
The delicate brushwork, combined with a harmonious color palette of greens, oranges, and subtle blues, invites a calm, nostalgic mood. This artwork would be perfect for anyone seeking to bring a touch of tranquility and natural beauty into their home, creating a serene retreat-like atmosphere in any room.
David James was born in London in 1944 and moved to Outer London in the fifties.
