About the Item
The painting was painted from life. We see the motif of old Würzburg on a sunny summer day. This is the Balthasar Neumann Alley, named after the architect who built the most significant buildings in the city, including the Residence, the fence of which we see on the left. On the right is the portal of the university cathedral. In the distance, there are old buildings with attics and tiled roofs, one of the church towers. On this hot day, the street is not crowded. We see only a few passers-by. The central part of the work is occupied by a tree growing at the end of the alley, most of which is behind the viewer. The foliage glares and shimmers in the sun with yellow hues. Bluish shadows from the foliage and the metal grating of the fence fall on the white-hot earth.
The painting is painted in a lively manner, reminiscent of impressionism. It does not have a frame. The sides are not painted. It can be a worthy gift, and also decorate a living room, office or dining room in a private house or apartment.
