Description: Beautiful & Elegant Antique Landscape Oil Painting by well listed Norwegian Artist Eilert Mehl (Norway, 1865 – 1941) Title: A Mountain Village Signed: lower right “Eilert Mehl” Medium: Oil on canvas Frame: Housed in a newer gold wood frame Dimensions: 30″ x 49″ Condition: Very Good, with some minor previous restoration About the artist (translated from the Norwegian Online Encyclopedia): Biography: Mehl was a popular landscape and animal painter. He debuted at the Autumn Exhibition in Trondheim in 1887. In 1888, it caused a stir that Christiania Art Society bought Ms. And some rabbits for 800 kr. He moved back to Norway first in 1905. Interrupted by a few years in Nesttun in Bergen, he spent the rest of his life in Gol and Nesbyen in Hallingdal. Mehl studied at Anders Askevold, Dusseldorf 1883-1884 and Karl Uchermann same place from 1885 to 1889; Studies in Paris from 1890 to 1891. His studies continued upon an art bequest in 1886; Research visit in Berlin from 1889 to 1890; Hamburg 1898-1899. Collections: Eilert Mehl’s works are included in numerous public collections including Raftevolds, Hornindal and Aleksandra Hotel, Loen. Illustrative Works: E.
