The Blue Hour is taken from inspiration from a trip to the Hebrides where the wild weather and atmospheric landscape betrays the hidden beauty of nature. The blues and indigoes are representative of the fading light just before dark when everything becomes even more dramatic and the hazy light blends everything together.

Elaine Fox - Artist - Painter Elaine Fox's work is available for sale online or in our gallery at Wychwood Art. I love being in nature and concentrate on using paint as a vehicle to convey the intimacy of my surroundings and the sense of belonging and affinity with landscape. The landscape drives me to capture atmosphere when I am in wild places and I use these feelings and experiences in a very loose and ephemeral way to create my own personal view of the landscape. Most of my work is completed in the studio after drawing and painting outdoors.
