About the Item

Gorgeous original oil painting of Naples Beach, Florida by renowned American artist Emile Gruppe. The perspective of the painting allows the viewer to travel past the native palm tree to the wide open stretch of the beach just beyond. This painting is typical of his style after 1930, where he combined his interpretation of Realism with the light and stylistic manner of Impressionism. This is an original oil on canvas in a fine gold gilt frame. Overall Dimensions: 27.5 x 31.5 Inches Canvas Dimensions: 20 x 24 Inches Painting is wired and ready to hang. Painting is signed lower right Emile A. Gruppe The artist Emile Gruppe (1896 -1978) summered in Sarasota and captured the unique characteristics of the coast and Florida in his landscapes. He was born in New York to an established artist, Charles Paul Gruppe, who initially trained him. He later studied at the National Academy in New York City and at the Carnegie Art School, where he was taught by Charles Webster Hawthorne, John F Carlson, and George Chapman.
