Christies auction stencil marks and sticker to the reverse.
condition: showing its age but in good and sound condition. The frame is antique and very vulnerable with some pieces of plaster crumbling to the touch. We include it free of charge with the painting but cannot warranty its condition on arrival due to its fragility.
A delightful early 1800's English romantic work, painted on this lovely thick wood panel. Displaying influence from the earlier Dutch Golden Age in its handling, with its soft subtle tones and atmospheric warmth. Well painted and clearly by a good hand.
