About the Item

Richmond Castle, Yorkshire from the River Swale by Everett W. Mellor (1878-1965) signed oil on board, framed Framed: 15 x 19 inches Board: 10 x 14 inches Provenance: private collection, Yorkshire Condition: very good condition Everett Watson Mellor was a landscape painter in both watercolour and oil. Born in London he was the son of William Mellor, a renowned landscape artist. Everett was taught by his father, and his style is very similar to that of William's, with whom his works are sometimes confused. Both father and son had a wonderful eye for composition and their choice of landscape is superb, taking inspiration from the landscapes of North Wales and the North East of England. He died in Middlesborough in 1965 For more any more information please do contact us with any questions you may have. Thank you.
