As early as 1956 he was dividing his time between pursuing his classical studies and his involvement in both organizing art exhibitions and taking part in them. In 1957 he received his Classical High School Diploma and the following year he enrolled on the Geological Science Course at the University of Naples. In 1959 he began to create various important works and large-scale canvases; one of these was awarded a prize by a jury of experts in occasion of his participation in the “First Edition of the National Exhibition for Young Italian Artists,” held in Naples. In 1967 after some years of serious and thoughtful work, Ferdinando Ambrosino arranged for his first one-man exhibition at the UCAI in the Maschio Angioino in Naples. In 1968 he accepted the invitation to hold a personal one-man exhibition in Venezuela extended to him by a leading art gallery of Caracas, receiving enormous success from both critics and public alike. In Caracas he had then other 10 one-man exhibitions and took part to various art events organized by public institutions and Museums. To this period it follows a series of personal exhibitions in Italy as well as in France, Venezuela, USA, Swiss, Spain and Belgium, which establish successfully his artistic career. Among the many exhibitions are to be mentioned the itinerant one of 1974 through Greece, Turkey, Romania and Russia. A splendid anthological review of his art was organized at the “Palazzo dei Diamanti” in Ferrara, Italy in 1986. In 1990 under the patronage of the Ministry of the Cultural Heritage of Rome, a great exhibition is realized in the monumental complex of “San Michele a Ripa” in Rome, with works spanning a thirty-year period of Ferdinando Ambrosino’s artistic production. The year 1992 followed with a large exhibition held at the prestigious Paris Art Centre Art Gallery and in the same year he was invited to exhibit at the Musée du Bastion Saint André in Antibes on the Cote d’Azur. Of great significance for his artistic career were the 2 exhibitions held in New York in 1994 and 1997 and at the Italian Institute of Culture in San Francisco, in 1998. index2 From 2003 about 200 paintings are in expositions at the Museum of “Villa San Carlo Borromeo”, in Milan, Italy. In 2004, the exhibitions “L’Icona Mediterranea” (“Mediterranean Icon”) is held at the “Sala Dorica” of the Royal Palace in Naples. In 2007 the exhibition “Prophecy” is held at the Italian Institute of Culture in New York. In 2009 the exhibition “The memory of Time” is held at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York. In 2013 the exhibition “A Journey through Time” is held at the “Reggia Borbonica” of Quisisana, Castellamare di Stabia, Naples, Italy. Romanian Modernist Gouache Painting Of Buildings And Boats - Jean David
By Jean David
Located in Surfside, FL
Jean David was a painter and designer, known for his contributions to the Romanian avant-garde and to the early modernist art of Israel (then recently founded). He was the first Israeli artist to be inducted into the illustrious Alliance Graphique Nationale in 1954. He had studied between 1927 and 1937 at various art academies in Paris. In 1929 he participated for the first time at a collective exhibition in Bucharest and in 1933 he had his first personal exhibition (in the same city). In the early '30s he was a member of the Surrealist group "unu" (meaning "one"). In 1942, he left Romania in a boat with 12 other Jews, including Theodor Brauner, the brother of Victor Brauner. After being captured by British authorities in Cyprus, he managed to reach Palestine in 1944. In 1949 he went to live in Jerusalem, where he was active in developing ceramic arts, sculpture works in copper, and artistic tapestry wall hangings under the auspices of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. Together with Marcel Janco, he founded in Israel the artist village known as Ein Hod. He also gained much reputation as a muralist and graphic and poster designer, having designed numerous posters and other works for the El Al air company, Maccabiah games, Zim shipping and The Israel tourist industry. David’s primary importance was in the design of posters. He used a wildly colorful decorative style in his art, which combined illustration, caricature, and national figures. In addition he designed wall hangings for “Maskit,” and also worked in the decoration of public buildings. His paintings had elements of Surrealism and included images from nature and landscapes. Similar in style to David Klein and the Polish Cyrk posters. Forms From Israel, Mounting Exhibition, USA, 1958 Artists: El Hanani (Sapozhnikow), Arie Azaz, Nehemiah Boris Carmi, Hanna Harag Zunz, David, Jean David Gumbel, Keiner Forcheimer, Julia Mansfeld, Al Merom, Peter Mayer, Jean Palombo...

1972 Gestural Oil Painting Boat in Harbor Figural Abstraction Raoul Middleman
By Raoul Middleman
Located in Surfside, FL
Raoul Middleman (born 1935 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American painter. Middleman has been a member of the Maryland Institute College of Art faculty since 1961. American University Museum at the Katzen Center has described Middleman as a "Baltimore maestro [whose] nudes are not pretty—they are sagging, dimpled, and real. His cityscapes reveal the underbelly of post-industrial rot, his narrative paintings give contemporary life to his personal obsessions. They are intelligent, messy, and utterly masterful." From an interview with RM "I was doing abstract art. Then Roy Lichtenstein came around, and I wanted to be current. I remember Grace Hartigan said, “You’ve gotta go to New York, seize destiny by the hand.” My friend Jon Schueler took my slides up to Eleanor Ward, who had the Stable Gallery. My Pop art paintings were discovered. I moved to New York into Malcolm Morley’s old loft down on South Street. Agnes Martin was upstairs... People who interest me come from different quarters. I knew guys around Schueler, like B.H. Friedman. But I also knew the Pop world pretty well – Al Hansen, Richard Artschwager, Lichtenstein. I became friends with Raoul Hague...

After her education there, and brief training at the age of six in art schools in Venice, Italy, while on a European sojourn with her father, she studied fine art at the Académie Julian, the École des Beaux-Arts and the Académie Grande Chaumière in Paris, France, during the 1920s and 1930s. Back in the United States, Hamilton studied for a short time at the Herron Art Institute in Indianapolis, the Cincinnati Art Academy and under the tutelage of the landscape and maritime painter Anthony Thieme (1888-1954) in Rockport, Massachusetts. The Ainslie Galleries on Fifth Avenue held an exhibit of Hamilton’s French Alpine Scenes to much acclaim. Hamilton exhibited in venues throughout the city and sold as many as 300 landscapes. In 1927, Vice President Charles Gates Dawes acquired one of Hamilton’s paintings following her one person exhibit at the Women’s National Party Headquarters in Washington D.C. "Marina in the French Riviera" Post-Impressionist Sea Shore Boats Oil Painting
By Lucien Adrion
Located in New York, NY
This work by Lucien Adrion is a wonderful representation of his Post-Impressionist works at the seashore by the French Riviera. Using a bright palette of colors, Adrion executes this piece with much attention to detail with many boats situated along the marina. There are palm trees and buildings placed in the distance, as we can feel the warmth of the sun contrasted with the cool breeze of the water. The boats are wonderfully executed by the artist in a very whimsical way that leaves us with an essence of enjoyment from that sunny day at the marina. As this tourist destination was a favorite of the artist to find inspiration and highly attractive subjects and compositions to represent, we can find several of his works like this subject and others. The piece is signed by the artist lower left and it comes housed in a French giltwood frame with linen liner and hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 19 x 23.5 inches Frame measures 27 x 32 inches Lucien Adrion was born May 25, 1889 in Strasbourg, France. He was a French Post-Impressionist painter, draftsman, and printmaker known for his depictions of the French countryside and beaches, as well as Parisian life including landscape, still life, figure, and landmarks paintings. He began his initial studies in Strasbourg as a technical draughtsman. In 1907, at the age of 18, he left his hometown Strasbourg and traveled to Paris, where he found employment in a large drafting company to work as a fashion illustrator. Adrion changed his mind upon arrival and rather than working for a large company, he decided to peruse his artistic career by traveling to London, Munich, and Frankfurt. As the World War broke out he had to go to Berlin, where he studied as an engraver with Hermann Struck, who was also the teacher of Marc Chagall. He remained in Berlin until the war ended and after the demobilization, Lucien would study engraving under Franz Ritter von Struck...
