Clamber is an original painting by artist Fiona Pearce which incorporates a beautifully considered vibrant colour palette alongside an almost Hockney inspired composition. In these painting she enjoys the juxtaposition of the gestural and fluid mark making in the background with the minimal and graphic trees in the foreground. Working from her studio in Upper Farringdon, Fiona work's mainly in acrylic, applying thick layers with cards, fingers and occasionally a brush.
Works by Contemporary artist Fiona Pearce available online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Fiona was born in Guildford and growing up in Surrey and Hampshire, she studied Art at what was then known as the West Surrey College of Art and Design in Farnham, where she specialised in graphics and typography. Initially Fiona had a career in the visual sector and worked as a stylist and after her boys were born, she took some time out for herself where started to paint again. It was an experimental piece attracted a lot of interest and quickly sold, bringing with it lots of commissions and interest from galleries. From her studio in Upper Farringdon, she works mainly in acrylic, but initially spends a lot of time on her tablet, sketching and planning with the main focus on the composition and palette. She is inspired mainly by the incredible Bourne Woods in Surrey where many films including Gladiator and The Marvel series were set, but Fiona's love of colours and use of space on the canvas is what excites her the most about painting. Fiona get's real pleasure in the details of the composition and the finishing touches which make a picture work.
