About the Item
Gorgeous mid century landscape of Villafranche Sur Mer overlooking Cap Ferret by G. Cunningham (American, 20th Century), 1957. Study of painting by Ladislav Hlavka (Czech, 1899 - ?). Signed lower right corner with "From painting by L. Hlavka." Location "VillaFranche French Riveria" lower left corner. Presented in rustic gilt-toned wood frame. Image size: 20"H x 24"W.
Villefranche-sur-Mer is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region on the French Riviera and is located south-west of the Principality of Monaco, which is just west of the French-Italian border.
Condition: Minor craquelure consistent with age throughout. Prior to shipping, our resident Art Conservator will inspect the piece and if necessary clean, remove any old, yellowed varnish, repair blemishes and minor issues and put on coat of UV-resistant varnish to insure against future tonal depreciation. Frames are included “as is,” but as a courtesy, minor cosmetic issues will be retouched as necessary prior to shipping.
