Up for sale is a stunning original large antique 19th-century oil painting on canvas that captures a glowing forest landscape at sunset, with fiery hues of orange, red, and gold streaming through tall, shadowy trees. Born in Port Huron, Michigan, on November 21, 1856, he relocated to Los Angeles by the late 1920s, where he remained active in the local art community until his death on March 25, 1951. Kaumeyer was a member of the Painters and Sculptors of Los Angeles and exhibited his works at notable venues, including the California State Fair in 1930, the Artists Fiesta in 1931, Lowe Galleries in 1932, and Gardena High School in 1933.
