French Impressionist oil on card landscape by Giraud. The painting is signed bottom right and titled to the back of the card.
A charming view of the landscape around Toulon in the south of France. Giraud has captured an iconic landscape of an ochre dirt road leading away towards Mont Faron, the whole scene set in the sunshine of a summers day. The shade of the majestic towering Cyprus tree moves gently across the ground surrounded by the bushes and flowers of the undergrowth. The mountain itself captured in purple hues and all set under a moody atmospheric sky. Giraud has used an impasto technnique to give texture and depth to the painting and give it a jewel like quality.
