Guillaume Chansarel (Guiyome)
Paris Night 2 by Guillaume Chansarel - Urban landscape painting, Paris, city

2024

About the Item

Paris Night 2 is a unique drawing by French contemporary artist Guillaume Chansarel. The drawing is made with ink and acrylic on kraft paper, dimensions are 28 × 36 cm (11 × 14.2 in). The artwork is signed, sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity. This painting represents Paris, the city of Love! Lovers from all over the world celebrate their passion and tenderness in Paris. This painting could therefore be the ideal romantic gift to express your feelings to your loved one on Valentine's Day, whether it's your crush, your fiancé or your life partner! Guillaume Chansarel uses the urban framework as a central element in his artistic production. Architecture is a core element in his paintings, he is interested in its graphical representation and through the construction of perspective he invites the viewer to travel, from brand new perspectives, into the heart of international megalopolis. Through his compositions, the painter aims to capture the soul and the spirit of a place. Guillaume Chansarel catches the essence of a city and depicts an atmosphere on the canvas by immortalizing a single street corner. The uniqueness of the artist’s work lies in the realistic aspect of his work but also on the original use of an innovative support: pages of print from antique books onto which he draws and then paints, and consequently which tells a completely new story.

By 1904 this led to the official founding of the Bristol Savages and the holding ever since, of similar weekly meetings between October and May each year. In 1905 the first exhibition of paintings was held at the premises of George Nichols & Co., an auctioneer in Broad Street, Bristol. During the next 14 years exhibitions were held annually in Bristol and their first permanent home was Brandon Cottage which was made available to them through the good offices of fellow member James Fuller Eberle.
