About the Item
Jack Kleinberg (1946 – 2022), oil on canvas, 29”x 70”, estate stamped, unframed
Jack Kleinberg was a well known scene painter in New Orleans, and was known as an eccentric artist who painted many street scenes but did not like to sell his work very readily. He preferred to keep his paintings until someone showed the proper level of understanding and respect for his work….and it was only then when he might consider allowing someone to purchase one of his paintings. Kleinberg’s paintings are colorful and expressionistic depiction of known locations around New Orleans. His paintings are sought after by collectors of Louisiana and Southern Art and his New Orleans scenes are of particular interest to native New Orleanians and those who love New Orleans.
