Born in Poblenou in 1935. died in 2012. He was the son of a wall painter, in whose small workshop Jaume was fascinated by color mixtures. Self-taught, he goes through the painting classes that Professor Baqué gave in the "Education and Rest" premises of the neighborhood.
A painter by trade, with an impressionist touch, Mariné managed to become a professional painting specialist specializing in the subject of seascapes. Captivated by this landscape of the "Alt Empordà" he resided for a long time in Port de la Selva where he had a workshop gallery in front of that bay that he painted so many times. Although Jaume Mariné never left Poblenou, from which he regretted its loss of identity as a neighborhood in recent years.
