Contemporary realistic Arkansas landscape nature painting by Houston based artist Jerry Greenberg. The work features a stand fall colored trees next to a flowing river. Signed in the front lower left corner as well as titled on the reverse. Currently hung in a gold frame.

Artist Biography: I have a deep appreciation for nature. In my work I seek to convey the landscape as I experience it emotionally as well as visually. I travel frequently throughout the United States and Europe in search of new landscapes. Some of my favorite subjects include rivers and creeks in the Texas hill country; aspen trees in the Rocky Mountains; ponds in New England; and lush rolling hills in the English countryside. My influences include French and Russian Impressionists and early California landscape painters.
The act of painting makes me feel alive. It is as essential to me as breathing. I'm at my easel constantly because painting gives me a sense of freedom and makes me who I truly am.

Artist Biography: William Robert Stevenson was born in 20 May 1925 in Eugene, Oregon. His family moved to Minneapolis, MN but he promptly returned to Oregon and Washington during the Great Depression to work in the Works Progress Administration (WPA). Hoping to study Art, his future was sidetracked when he was drafted into the United States Army at age 17 years old in early 1942. Being a strong swimmer, and having worked at stables as a child, he initially served in the last US Cavalry Corps, and also as a Swimming Instructor for the United States Army.
