About the Item
Under a captivating aquamarine blue sky dotted with sumptuous white clouds, the northern sunlight graces Honfleur, France while blessing the generations of artists who have migrated there to paint with the utmost clarity, and views overlooking the English Channel! Nestled in Normandy where the Seine River meets the English Channel are charming buildings with earth tones--taupe, golden yellow, beige, browns and red--which accentuate the inescapable mood of this historic village painted by Monet, Boudin and others in the French impressionist school of artists. Jim Rodgers painted this original marine landscape with extensive impasto true to the impressionists. He also selected a slightly distressed antique gold frame in which to present his oil painting. Rodgers studied painting at both the highly respected Art Students League of NYC and Ridgewood Art Institute of NewJersey. He has pursued his craft for more than 40 years to notable acclaim; amongst numerous other serious art collections across the United States, Rodgers' works are included in the collections of a prior chairman of J P Morgan Chase, Pennsylvania Trust and Champion Mortgage Company.
