A wildfire is blowing in from across a valley, casting a grey shadow on the orange and yellow earth. The sun is partially obscured by the smoke. In the foreground, there is a simple fence and a few small shrubs. Just across the grassland, there is a barn with a silo. The artist has stated that he passed by a wildfire in Utah and was worried that the farm would be destroyed by the fire, so he thought it was important to paint the scene.
