About the Item
Country Lane in France is a plein aire painting done on a recent trip buy artist Judy Elias to rural France. This oil painting is what Judy Judy Elias sees in everyday life as paintings - the colors in the shadows, the light coming through the trees, or on buildings, and the colors in the clouds. Life is a painting! Country Lane in France is oil on panel and a complimentary gold leaf frame is included in the price.
Judy Elias says: I love to travel because it offers so many opportunities to look for painting possibilities. Art speaks a language that everyone can understand. It is a great way for people to communicate without saying a word. Visually you are saying "I love your country". I believe that art speaks to people in ways that they cannot seem to do directly. Through art, people of all nationalities can communicate on the same level.
She paints mostly smaller pieces en plein air, but is not adverse to enlarging a plein air study if a client likes it and wants something larger. Judy is a skilled draftsperson, as is readily evidenced in the foundations of her paintings.
Judy's paintings are in many private collections throughout the United States. Charleston South Carolina is a port town and hosts many of visitors and art collectors who take away a little bit of Charleston by choosing a small painting. Houston has a thriving art community and the businesses there support artists by buying and displaying works by local artists. Judy's work is displayed at the Weingarten Real Estate offices in Houston. She is an associate member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionists Society, the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society and the Texas Watercolor Society. She studied art and Business at the University of Oklahoma, then design at the Academy of Merchandizing and Design in Chicago, Illinois, where she lived and worked for 18 years as and Interior designer and artist. She uses color as a designer would in all her paintings. She is now a full time painter living in Fayetteville, Texas and active in the thriving art community.
Judy was born in the oil fields of West Texas and has lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Illinois and Texas over the years. She has the spirit of a gypsy when it comes to painting and living, and has traveled the world in pursuit of her passion for art, her desire to tell a story via the canvas as honestly as beautifully as she can, and her commitment to artistic integrity and excellence.
She had a painting in Charleston S.C. at the Gibbes Museum of Art Restoration Kick off Show and participated in the Fall Art and Wine Walks on Kiawah Island. Also the Sasanquah Spa at The River Course on Kiawah Island SC carried her small paintings.
In Houston she had two paintings in the January 2017 Art and Wine Event at River Oaks Country Club.
She was juried into the National Oil and Acrylic Painters Fall online show and was featured at the R.S. Hanna Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas for four months with a series of Texas Hill Country paintings.
Also she had paintings hanging at the Kiawah Island Town Hall on numerous occasions.
She was asked to be the artist for the Edisto Island South Carolina Preservation Society Fall Plantation Tour one Fall. She painted 9 paintings of the Plantations and Churches featured in the Tour.

Located in Houston, TX
Bastille Day is an example of the Impressionist painters that the artist most admires for their vibrant use of color and their individual brushwork.
As it did for the impressionists, everyday subjects inspire Judy Crowe such as Bastille Day in this oil painting..
She loves to use in her oil paintings, flowers, discovered objects and landscapes and appreciates the beauty of nature. In Bastille Day it’s quite a challenge to capture the feel of a time or place on canvas rather than a photo representation.
