NOTES: Landscape painter born in Schaerbeek Belgium who was much associated with the Symbolist movement and painter Maurice Blieck, Marc-Henry Meunier and Paul Mathieu with whom he exhibited in 1893 at the Brussels Salon Triennial. He was the founder of the 'Cercie Labeur' and the 'Sillon' - in later years he turned to impressionism travelling extensively around France to paint the villages and landscapes.
