'Follow' is a large Post-Impressionist oil on linen landscape painting of square format created by American artist Julie Houck in 2019. Featuring a luminous palette mostly made of blue, green, grey, soft yellow and white tones, the painting is a serene depiction of a marsh area, dominated by the striking presence of the sky. Two-thirds of the composition are dedicated to the fluffy clouds, while the lower section showcases the sinuous lines of a swampy area. Studying art in college helped prepare Julie for 17 years of traveling the world as a professional location photographer. Houck’s travels throughout Europe, Asia and across the United States during her career as a photographer reinforced and expanded her knowledge about composition and instilled in her a fascination with the importance of light. Unframed, this large Post-Impressionist oil on linen landscape painting is signed lower right.
