A medium sized unique oil painting on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
As the artist move through a new passage of her life these “Into the Woods” paintings started to emerge. This artwork from the series was painted from a photo taken during a visit to Fouriesburg near Clarens in the Eastern Freestate province of South Africa. Thabo is short for Lethabo translating to Joy or Happiness - the feeling you get when walking in the woods.

Karin Hopkinson is a contemporary painter working mainly with oils on canvas. She was born in Helsinki in 1972. She went on to study BA Fine Arts at the University of the Orange Free State in South Africa. Thereafter, she started her career as a Graphic Designer. After moving to Cape Town in 1996 she started her own business and so moved into the Advertising Industry as a Creative Director. After many years of creating and conceptualising for clients, she turned back to her art. Nature is the main inspiration of her work where she portrays nature’s cycles in vibrant colour. She currently lives in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband and two teenage kids.
