Marjorie Tietjens (1895 - ): An American born artist who was raised in Europe and studied there at the Royal Drawing Society of London for 8 years. She also spent time furthering her education at the Chateau Brillantmont in Switzerland and the British Academy in Rome. Eventually she settled in New York City, until her husband, who composed the score for the original Wizard of Oz opera, died in 1940. It was then she moved out west and fell in love with the beautiful landscapes, which would soon become a central theme in her works.
