About the Item

Mary Chaplin, Impending summer storm, diptych (2x100x81cm) acrylic on linen canvas. Poppy fields are a real source of inspiration for Mary Chaplin. Rather than just painting a wild flower field, she was more interested in capturing the feeling of the atmosphere getting heavy and far away the sky becoming darker announcing the storm to come. The strong blue sky gives power to the red of the poppies. More than a figurative representation, through this painting I wanted to illustrate the abstract feelings the scene aroused. This painting is not framed but ready to be hung. Important information: This piece of work is on two separate canvases.; a diptych piece.
