Michele Falanga nasce nel 1865 a Bagnara Calabra (Reggio Calabria) Muore a Messina nel 1937.
Ama studiare, soprattutto materie letterarie classiche, la teologia, la filosofia e la storia.
Al tempo la città di Messina appare in grande fermento e attira molti capitali stranieri, favorendo così l’apertura di nuove attività commerciali ed industriali.
La quotidianità viene interrotta da uno degli eventi più tragici del nostro Paese: il disastroso terremoto del 1908 che colpisce Messina coinvolge Michele in prima persona; perde infatti due figli.Questi accadimenti fanno sì che in lui si radichi una complessa concezione della vita e del destino.
Inizia a scrivere poemi in dialetto siciliano ,e conosce la pittura Futurista tramite le prime mostre di Pippo Rizzo e Giulio D’Anna (messinese d’adozione) Inizia quindi a dipingere questo ciclo di pitture Futuriste ,tutte su giornali quotidiani d'epoca
