Abstracted landscape by California artist Noel Howard (American, 20th Century). Layers of watercolor create a dreamlike landscape, as if the scene is just slightly out of focus. There are shapes and forms that seem to represent fields, trees, and the sky, but without excessive detail. Unsigned, purchased with a collection from the artist. Presented in a new cream mat with foam-core backing. Paper size: 12.5"H x 16"W Mat size: 16"H x 18"W Noel Howard studied Fine Art at Scripps College in Claremont, California, and continued her education at UC Berkeley, where she received a Master’s degree. She painted in Northern California, the Berkshires, Switzerland, France and Italy.

Unsigned, but acquired with a collection of her work. Please note the Needle Thread work to the paper. Lillie (Lil) E. Heebner was guided through life by her creativity. Even at 92, she never felt old, and often said so. She met every situation in life—including death—with ingenuity. Although born in Richmond, Lillie lived in Watsonville all her life. Her father, Frederick H. Hillman, grew up on a strawberry ranch in Pajaro, graduated from Watsonville High School in 1916, and served in France during World War I.
