Born in Paris, the French painter Paul Lecomte, Paul Emile Lecomte's uncle, learned painting in the studio of the painter Emile Lambinet. He exhibited regularly at the Salon in Paris from 1880 to 1912, where his work was rewarded several times: an honorable mention in 1882, a third-class medal in 1888 and a second-class medal in 1895. He also presented his works at the Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900 in Paris, where he successively received an honorable mention and a silver medal. He regularly stayed in Provence, Brittany and Normandy. He was appointed official painter of the Navy in 1921. He died in Paris on September 19, 1950 and was buried in the same city at the Montrouge cemetery on September 22, 1950.
