Rachel Tighe, artist paints original art and is available to buy online and in our art gallery. I've been a self-employed artist for the past 8 years after building up a reputation with galleries and clients since graduating from university in 2008. I would describe my work as bold, colourful and naïve in nature; it represents how I see my surroundings in an expressive and fluid form. I feel that over the years my style has become more refined and my use of colour has directed me into exploring new thoughts and compositions. I think that by exploring ideas alone in my studio has steered me to develop naturally and hone in on my style. I'm currently represented by a handful of reputable galleries nationwide who have exhibited my work in solo shows and have also taken my work to well recognised art fairs, both in the UK and places such as New York and Monaco. To sum up my practice I would have to say it’s about the exploration of mark making and instinctive lines that map out and form our conscious surroundings. The graphical nature of my strokes challenges my use of colour to create depth and balance. I love landscapes and florals to draw inspiration from as there are so many compositions and shapes from architecture that seem complex, but when painting become so effortless and free-flowing. I look for certain outlines and characteristics when creating a painting.

This abstract painting contains Jon Rowland's signature gestural mark making techniques, with bright colours and a complex composition this would make statement in any home. Discover new paintings by Jon Rowland and his abstract expressionism with Wychwood Art. Each work has been carefully selected by Deborah Allan our Chief Art Curator. Wychwood Art have exhibited Jon Rowland in London during a pop-up exhibition of theirs at the Darren Baker Gallery. His paintings have been displayed at the Royal Academy and at the Berthold and Darren Baker Gallery in London. He has also exhibited in group exhibitions at Linacre and Green Colleges, at Swann Gallery in Woodstock, and with Wychwood Art at Battersea Art Fair. He was one of six contemporary artists who took part in an exhibition of views of Blenheim Palace, juxtaposing the original visions with today's, as part of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Capability Brown's birth.
