About the Item

The artist applies the underpainting in approximately five to six layers, building a rich texture of brushstrokes that adds depth and atmosphere to the work. Although this process is time-consuming, it significantly enhances the overall feel of the painting. For the final layers, the artist works with oil paint mixed with Liquin and a touch of Cold Wax Medium. They use fairly large flat brushes for broader strokes and employ unconventional tools—such as the back of a brush, cotton swabs, kitchen paper, or any object that helps achieve the desired lines and shapes—for finer details. The addition of wax proves especially useful, as it thickens the paint, making it easier to manipulate and offering greater control over texture and form.

Echoes from the Breeze
By Francesca Borgo
Located in BARCELONA, ES
Through my work, I invite viewers to find themselves in the ebb and flow of these abstract landscapes. Each piece is a reminder that, just like the clouds shifting across the sky or the waves reshaping the shore, we too are constantly adapting, evolving, and finding new ways to thrive. It is an exploration of how resilience is not a rigid stance, but a fluid process—a journey that requires both the gentleness to bend with change and the energy to face it head-on. In today’s world, where the pace of life often feels as unpredictable as the weather, my art speaks to the universal experiences of growth, adaptation, and the quiet strength that lies beneath the surface of every turbulent wave. Through these pieces, I hope to create a space where viewers can see their own stories—where they can find comfort in nature’s wisdom and inspiration in its endless capacity for renewal. I deem my works are mainly influenced by modern and contemporary artists, such as Zao Wou-Ki, Zhang Daqian, Julie Mehretu, David Hammons, Wu Chi-Tsung and traditional Chinese ink art...

Wiltshire Streams, Pink Moon, 2023 - Green Contemporary Landscape Oil Painting
By Tim Woolcock
Located in Kingsclere, GB
Tim Woolcock was born in Lancashire, though his family originates from St Just-in-Penwith in Cornwall, where the artist spent many summers. He now lives part of the year on his farm in County Carlow, Ireland, where his studio is located. Between 1963 and 1970 Tim attended Arnold School in Blackpool and regularly visited the Grundy Art Gallery in the town. In 1971, he began his studies in to study Philosophy and Art at the Roehampton Institute, University of London. After graduating, Tim stayed in London to teach for twelve years. Tim's painting clearly shows his inspiration from Modern British painters, particularly the traditions of the 1950s and St Ives Schools. As with landscape painters of the earlier twentieth century, such as Paul Nash and Evelyn Dunbar, Tim's landscapes have a somewhat mystical quality and at times approach abstraction. The simplicity and geometry found in work of the St Ives School - so important to the development of Modern British art - is a particular inspiration, with artists such as Patrick Heron, William Scott and Ben Nicholson being most key in his development, though Tim's paintings have a strength and clarity all their own. A knowledge of Zen and understanding of the natural world is reflected in his work, 'I have been greatly influenced by Zen writers, some who have said that the real aim of art is purposeless - not to be confused with a nihilistic approach - in 'Zen and The...
