"I applied layers of carefully painted harmonious oil colors to create the values and depth of this wonderful park," says artist Robert Pennor. The Virgin River meanders along the shore as the majestic mountains rise above. Sunlight appears golden on the rust rocks and amongst the trees and foliage on the riverbanks.

About the Artist
After painting for years out of the family room of his home, Robert took the plunge and built an addition to his home for proper studio space. He works in two very different styles, producing both color-blocked abstracts and realist landscapes. Robert begins each painting by creating a thumbnail value sketch to establish a composition. Each piece reflects his mood, but whether energetic or placid, the colors must always be harmonious. Robert’s technique uses mostly brushes with the occasional addition of palette knives to create subtle surface texture.
