About the Item

A bridge to nowhere has been taking no one there for almost 70 years. The Liesenbrücken bridge has been rusting with iron will and doing little else since it was abandoned in favor of younger bridges in 1957. Liesenbrücken bridges are graceful and imposing. Functionality of steel modules meets an effective architectural design. The upper constrictions are bent by an elegant semi-parabola. Vertical piles are crossing the diagonal ones gradually narrowed from the bridge ends to its center and there crossed with the counter diagonal piles inclined in the opposite side. The intricate web of thin lateral constrictions symphonize with massive upper steel beams. Double Overtime Shift, Urban Industrial Landscape, Contemporary Realist Painting
By Art Chartow
Located in Chicago, IL
The factories of Art Chartow's "Double Overtime Shift" represent strength, industrial might, and the ability to vanquish nature. This place is strange, sinister and forbidding yet at the same time beautiful and fragile. The artist's uses paint to express the power of light at this particular time of day. The winter sun has cast it's light onto the cold metal silos to bring some hope of warmth - as seen on the melting snow covered road. This contemporary realist painting is framed in a simple black wooden frame measuring 23.25h x 45.25w inches. Cabana A - Abstracted Urban Landscape of Tower at Milano Centrale Train Station
By Albert Vidal Moreno
Located in Chicago, IL
From its opening in 1931, Milano Centrale station was watched and worked by an army of more than 130 people in 7 different signal towers, 2 of which were of the bridge type across tracks. One of those towers is seen here in Albert Vidal's aptly titled work "Cabina A" - the closest of the switching towers to the main station. The loose, abstract brush strokes and warm color palette come together in this remarkable urban landscape painting. The bottom of the painting is marked with Vidal's signature - a series of numbers. The artist has carried the painting over the edges, thus allowing it to remain unframed. Alternate framing options can be discussed with the gallery.
