A superb oil-on-wood Impressionistic scene of a Mediterranian country house, with the sun slanting in on the patio from overhead. One of those scenes that can’t help but make you happy every time you look at it - makes me wonder what it would be like to live there. The artist manages to let you feel the warm afternoon sun and the cool shade in the surrounding garden. Mirabella excelled at landscapes and architecture of the Italian and Sicilian coastlines, capturing the joyful sunlight and its play across the stucco and stone surfaces characteristic of these regions.
