Clearing skies is an original studio painting based on an evening in the late spring when, after a beautiful day, I watched the sun set. What I wanted to achieve in this painting was the soft glow and unusual shadows developed on the clouds by the light coming from a very low place. I suppose the title reflected my growing optimism of a long hot summer ahead. The painting is oil on canvas, it is not framed.
