About the Item

Framed 16" x 16 " "Breaking Wake" by Steve Parker is 10" x 10" . Breaking Wake was painted along the Pacific Coast Coast in 2024. It is Oil on Canvas with a custom made frame. There is a similar painting available "Rolling Surf". "Breaking Wake" is a newer style of painting for Steve Parker going a bit outside the box in portraying the Texas landscape. There is a feeling of recognition, of the familiar and yet of the elusive Texas landscape. By looking inward, Parker has created a view which Texas nature is constantly changing. Steve Parker's paintings have enough definition to become recognizable while retaining a loose painterly quality. Breaking Wake by Steve Parker always bring the viewer back to mostly Texas landscapes. Steve Parker has been an Instructor at the Art League of Houston for over 30 years . Also shown are other Steve Parker paintings that were just delivered to the gallery. Steve Parker, born into a family which respected art and music, reflects within his personality both artistic influence of his ancestors and Texas childhood. Deeply passionate about his landscapes, Parker conveys his understanding of nature its depth, its moods and its ever-changing aspects to a broad and appreciative audience. After graduating from Texas Art Academy, Parker worked as a staff artist for the Houston Post. At that time he began studying under Lajos Markos, where he developed a strong appreciation for contemporary realism.
