About the Item
This autumnal landscape in oil pastel on paper is by New York City artist Tamar Zinn. Before turning to abstraction, Zinn’s artwork focused on Expressionist invented landscapes, of which this is an excellent example. Rich hues of red ocher, forest green, and nuanced black are balanced and bordered by pale gold, brass, and bronze. A multitude of carefully considered yet intuitively applied layers give the image incredible depth and textural complexity. The aesthetic and techniques on display here provide important insight into the artist’s underlying personal vocabulary that she would soon thereafter go on to employ in her abstract work. Presented under UV plexiglas in white matte with very nice black wood frame. Signed and dated in pencil at lower right. The work is The work measures 15”x27” the image, (23.5”x36.25” framed)
