About the Item
As a psychologist, I have explored numerous practices for self-discovery. During one of the training sessions, I learned that the oak tree symbolizes a connection to family. This majestic tree, which lives for centuries, links generations together. I was also captivated by the California oaks I once saw in a photo report. Since then, I have been drawn to images of oaks and other trees. The oak represents wisdom, the continuity of generations, and a deep connection to one's inner self.
About the artist
Tamara Makhotina (pseudonym Rozinskaya) was born in 1961 in Tbilisi, Georgia, and moved to Russia at 12. She became a psychotherapist after 40, helping women overcome depression. At 54, she turned to painting to support a colleague's project and found it helped her recover emotionally during health challenges.
As a psychologist, she values the importance of passion for the soul, incorporating art therapy into her practice and inspiring over 30 people to start painting. Since 2022, Tamara has lived and worked in Belarus as a professional artist, drawing inspiration from nature. Her work is influenced by the Russian school of realistic painting and her experiments with oil techniques.
