About the Item
The simplicity of the mountains, with water and bright sky, caught my attention in this scene.
Bits of land in the foreground, highlighted by mirror- like reflections, create a pleasing, relaxing composition that draws one into this mysterious sunset. The mountains in the distance capture deep glimmering orange light as the sun reveals it's other-worldly glow from outside the picture plane. Here is a perfect sunset to show off the gorgeous lead-tin orange pigment. Cadmium orange literally pales in comparison. This is one of the unique qualities of my paintings. Historical pigments such as lead-tin orange convey depths that are unknown and resonate as it portrays Ireland's west coast light at the end of a dreamy day. Lead-tin orange fell out of use as it was replaced with Cadmium orange in 1812.

Tom Irizarry is a man who does not compromise in any avenue of life and especially in making paintings. My work, like myself, stands firm on it's own ground. If you can see a fraction of what goes through my imagination as I am painting, well then my job is complete.
