About the Item
Immerse yourself in the timeless tapestry of Jerusalem with Topher Straus's captivating Limited Edition artwork. The golden Dome of the Rock dominates the foreground, drawing you into a labyrinth of ancient neighborhoods whispering tales of history. Yet, modern skyscrapers pierce the horizon, a testament to the city's constant evolution. This meticulous blend of photorealism and digital brushstrokes captures the essence of Jerusalem - a place where faith, history, and modernity converge in a breathtaking display of cultural richness. This conversation starter is a perfect addition for any space seeking a touch of the holy city's timeless allure.
The Process
Straus' creative journey begins with a reference image, often taken himself from a time he connected deeply with his surroundings. Once in his studio, he pares it down to the most basic of lines and shapes, then using a “digital brush”, he meticulously layers countless strokes - hundreds, even thousands - to build his vision, obsessing over every detail. Every vibrant hue, every subtle reflection, becomes a testament to his obsessive pursuit of an abstract yet deeply personal reality.
When his digital masterpiece has reached completion, he entrusts it to skilled artisans. They utilize a cutting-edge sublimation process, which unlike traditional printing, no dots of color mar the surface; there’s only the flawless, vibrant artwork molecularly bonded with a sheet of aluminum. A protective resin shields the art and adds luminosity, then the sheet is seamlessly bonded to a brushed black aluminum frame, ensuring both strength and sleek modernity. This meticulous process imbues the final piece with an almost backlit quality, amplifying the vivid colors and igniting the viewer's gaze.
Each finished artwork bears an individualized plaque of authenticity discreetly placed on its back. This elegant inscription details the title, size, edition number, and copyright notice, ensuring the work’s originality.
About Topher
Steeped in the Colorado outdoors from a young age, Topher found equal solace in exploring both nature's grandeur and the world of art. This duality imbues his work, echoing the Fauvist style of vibrant colors and abstraction, while centering on the natural world he champions. To him, art is not just an expression, but an invitation – a call to embrace the beauty that surrounds us, just as his brushstrokes capture it.
Straus' journey to artistic expression was a tapestry woven from diverse threads. A lifetime of exploration, a decade collaborating with cinematic legend Robert Altman, and years honing his singular perspective culminated in his 2019 Denver solo exhibition. There, the art world embraced his vibrant landscapes, and success followed in exhibitions across the globe. His limited-edition works continue to fuel both his creative fire and philanthropic pursuits, proving that artistic passion, in his hands, nourishes humanity in myriad ways.
Framing and Hanging
Fabricated with a specialized process, this artwork arrives ready to elevate any space. The permanent frame ensures structural integrity, while pre-installed hanging wire simplifies the installation. Discreetly attached rubber feet provide optimal stability when displayed against any surface. Topher Straus
Topher Straus's body of work represents an unconventional, stylized approach to depicting natural and urban landscapes. Sublimated onto large-scale metal sheets, they are powerful statement pieces that instantly surprise and engage the viewer. His process merges technology with an artist’s eye for form and color to highlight the essence of each subject matter, allowing his digital creations to pop off the metal substrate. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado in 1974, Straus grew up enjoying every opportunity to hike, ski, camp or otherwise spending time outdoors in nature. He left to study at Syracuse University in New York receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1997. His first career in directing documentary narrative films and advertising, took him to Los Angeles and later, New Zealand. His achievements in this medium included the appearance of his films in numerous international film festivals. In 2018, after a decade of professional film making, Straus returned to Denver and shifted his focus. He began fervently working toward becoming a full-time fine artist, hosting his first solo show in 2019. His second solo show, The Parks, debuted at a Denver gallery and garnered attention for his modern approach to the depiction of iconic landscapes, solidifying his style, vision and emergence into the art scene. The exhibit was also featured later that year at the American Mountaineering Museum. His colorful and dynamic work has been exhibited in galleries, institutions, museums and private collections throughout the United States and overseas. Straus is proud to have been recognized on a national level with the US National Park Service. Beginning in 2021 his “Tetons National Park” painting will be on permanent exhibit at the visitor’s center in the Grand Tetons National Park in Wyoming. Straus is an active, enthusiastic promoter of his own work and the art community overall through his large social media presence. He currently lives and works above Denver in the foothills of Golden, Colorado surrounded by the wilderness that inspires him. He has raised over $40,000 (USD) for charities he believes and continues to support organizations he believes in through his TOPHER GIVES initiative. He is currently represented by in Vail, Breckenridge, Winter Park, Evergreen and Boulder Colorado as well as in Los Gatos, California and Dallas, Texas.

Large Edward Ben Avram Israeli Bezalel School Jerusalem Landscape Oil Painting
By Edward Ben Avram
Located in Surfside, FL
Jerusalem Israeli landscape cityscape with the Har Habayit, The Temple Mount.
Size includes frame. canvas is 37.5 X 42.5
Edward Ben Avram (born 1941) is an Indian - Israeli artist who was born in Bombay, India and immigrated to Israel as a teenager. He graduated from the Bezalel School of Art and Design in 1965 and continues to call Jerusalem his home. Most of Ben Avraham oil painting and watercolors portrays Israeli cities, particularly the old city of Jerusalem with its architecture and orientalist domes and arches, religious festivals, and Bible stories. He paints in creamy sensual tones incorporating symbols such as doves, a menorah, and Shabbat candles. With his penchant for filigreed designs and bright colors, Edouard Ben Avram betrays some influences of his Indian boyhood. But the subjects that he paints so gracefully with a touch of Oriental lyricism are scenes of Jerusalem, his home for over 20 years.
