About the Item
Large original oil painting on canvas depicting this Provencal house in a landscape. French in authorship, the painting dates to the mid 20th century and is initialled by the artist to the lower right, "ANH".
Painted with wonderfully expressive thick impasto oil paint creating a superb coarse texture surface, the artist has captured excellent colour from the terracotta house, to the lush thick green plants and trees.
Utterly evocative of Provence, no doubt painted amidst one of the little hill top perched villages above the coast.
The painting measures 24 x 29 inches and came from a private collection of paintings in Paris.
